.reposted in the right section. Sorry guys!Hi.I am such a girl.I collect vintage My Little Ponies.

But recently I came across an interesting vintage monopoly. By researching (novel concept I know) I now know it's the 1940/1941 white box number nine.

Serial Number Monopoly Game House Game

It has strange colored players and fun wooden dice. It appears to be complete.including card with price ($3.50) and two sets of directions. And a poor beat up box.So I am not a game collector and I don't wish to keep it. But I can't seem to find a message board like my pony boards for old games. I would like to get an estimate on value and an idea on where to rehome it.besides ebay.

I did look on ebay, but there are none that early listed currently. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I actually question that it's that old. What did you use to make that determination? The early versions came with the bits in a separate small square box. I've not seen those odd bits though, and question whether they're actually Monopoly pieces.I'd love to know how you identified the version. What have you found out so far?is the website I found. My box is almost all the way at the end.

2nd from the last. Not the rare canadian version but the one above it. Says 1940 to 1941 white box number 9The oldest date in the box/directions is 1936 copyright.so that would make sense to me. I actually question that it's that old.

What have you found out so far?I have that version - or, I should say, that is the one that I played regularly when I was a kid. It is still at my mom's house, but she said that she would bring it to our family Christmas celebration this weekend. I know the houses and hotels were wooden, but I don't remember the other details. It does have the gold stamped hotels which came with White Box #9 and ten player pieces.I would be concerned that the money has been replaced since it appears crisp and the box is badly damanged, that would impact value to a collector.I don't recall the pieces being colored, maybe they were painted by someone? It would require more research to find out, but I simply don't have enough time to do that for you.I would guess that if the money is original and the paint does not reduce the value you are looking at about $40-$90 value due to its condition and the market for someone who would want the box in that poor of a condition is pretty small.Double check to make sure it doesn't say No. 0009 on it as that would be a more recent version of the game from around 1985.

Also check how much income tax is. The earliest versions had income tax of $300 (again research would be required to see if the original White Box No. 9 had income tax of $200 if yours has that).
